Maci Hamilton Jessie grew up in a small town in Northeast Oklahoma, and given the gift of negotiation she always knew she wanted to become a lawyer. Maci graduated with honors from Northeastern State University located in Tahlequah, Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in December 2001. A few short weeks later, Maci started law school at The University of Tulsa College of Law in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she received her Juris Doctor and Alternative Dispute Resolution Certificate in May 2004. While attending TU Law, Maci served as a Senior Staff Member of the Tulsa Journal of Comparative and International Law, was a member of Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity, and served as a legal intern licensed by the Oklahoma Supreme Court. Maci also clerked for the Honorable Mark L. Dobbins, Assoc. District Judge in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Only six years after graduating from high school, in 2004 Maci became licensed to practice law in the State of Oklahoma and started working as an attorney with the Tahlequah based firm Tim K. Baker & Associates, PLLC. In 2006, she was named the senior associate attorney and worked in that capacity until her relocation to Andalusia, Alabama.

 

Maci has always been a small town attorney. She is passionate about being an engaged member of her community and helping others when the need arises. With that in mind, when she relocated to Andalusia she knew the time was right to become a solo practitioner and open her own law firm. Maci became licensed by the Alabama State Bar in March 2015 and opened her firm Hamilton Jessie Law, LLC in Andalusia. In addition to representing clients through her firm, Maci also serves as a court-appointed attorney for the Covington County Probate and District Courts and is a certified guardian ad litem in Juvenile Court where she represents the interests of minor children in foster care and parental rights termination cases. She also serves the Municipal Court in Red Level as City Prosecutor and River Falls as Public Defender following her appointments by the Town Council.

Along with being a member of the Alabama State Bar and Oklahoma Bar Association, Maci is licensed to practice before the Cherokee Nation Tribal Court and United Keetoowah Band Tribal Court in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Oklahoma, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. In addition, she is a member of the Solo and Small Firm, Family, and Juvenile Law Sections of the Alabama State Bar.

Hamilton Jessie Law, LLC is a member of the Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce where Maci is a Past-President of the Board of Directors. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Andalusia Ballet Association and supports the LBWCC Foundation. Maci and her family live in Andalusia and are active members of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.
